For the LOVE of Water!

Our usual splash park isn't open during the week yet, so I found another one. This one is just a little further than the other one, but equally as good. I really wish our town had one. I love how they have everything in one spot; splash pad, playground, picnic tables, grill, and sports fields.

Zander loved it! I don't think it matters where we go, if there is water, he'll like it! There were a bunch of older kids there for some school activity, so he got to play with all the big kids. He likes to think he's one of them. He mimicked their every move and had a great time doing so. Be sure to click on the picture to make it larger so you can see Zander a little better.

Time to Eat!

I gave Mason his first cereal this week. He always tries to grab our food when we are eating, so I knew he would not have a problem. I didn't know, though, that he would be so upset when his bowl of cereal was all gone. Look at the face! He was thoroughly disgusted with me when I didn't have anymore to give him. Yes, I did have more to mix up, but I didn't want to give him too much for his little tummy. He has had no problems eating his rice cereal. I've given it to him twice a day since Tuesday. I hope he likes all his food this much!

Copy Cat!

I found this project for kids on Andrea's blog and thought Zander would love it. I was right, he helped me pick most of the pictures to cut out for "our house." I finished up with the cutting and he came back out to glue ever thing together. He LOVES to glue! I had to post our picture of the house since Andrea asked to see them if we copied her. So, here it is.....

The purple square is Zander's room, complete with toys and his favorite movies. The red room is the living room, which apparently is Mommy's room. That is me, watching TV. I helped him with the mom, & he insisted she had to be upside down so she could watch the TV. The yellow room off to the side is the garage, which he informed Jason was his room. We had fun making our house, we'll have to do it again in a few months to see how his perspective changes.

Again, I've copied Andrea. I hope she doesn't mind me being such a copy cat. I've always loved the "clothesline" she has hanging in her play area to hang the kids crafts on. So, while Zander was taking a nap yesterday, I hung some ribbon up over his little table to pin his artwork to. When he saw it, he said, "Wow, Awesome! I like this!" I was very happy that he liked it. Now we have some where other than the fridge to hand all his crafts on. Thanks for being so creative, Andrea!! :)

Garden Tending

I started this post a while ago, so I guess I should finish it up. This is my garden as of the 20th of May. It has grown quite a bit since then. We've had a lot of rain which has defiantly helped! My cucumbers have gotten pretty big and needed something to climb on so they don't take over the whole garden. I had my husband put together this little net for them to climb on. It seems to work well.

Jason also was kind enough to make this cover for my garden to keep out whatever pest was eating my veggies. He didn't really like how it turned out, but I think it looks great. & it certainly does the job, some of my lettuce has started growing back.

I've noticed some little bugs in my garden and had this recipe from one of my garden group sessions. I had all the stuff to make it so I did. I'm hoping it helps, so I'll let you know. If you'd like to try, the recipe is below.
2 TBSP of hot sauce
Few drops of liquid soap
Water
Mix all ingredients together, let sit for 24 hours. Shake and spray on garden.

I have no idea how much water to use, so I just used a 16 oz bottle of water. I sprayed it on my garden today (May 28th) and breathing it almost killed me, so I think it should work.

Two Cute!

I hope Zander is always this sweet to his baby brother. They look so sweet & cute! Do you believe he never wanted a baby? Now he wants to hold him everyday and he always wants him to take a bath with him.

Look how much fun he has with him in the bath. Mason loves to splash the water and Zander gets really excited every time he does.

They look so cute together. I love to see Zander giving Mason kisses or snuggling next to him. It's also fun to see Mason smile and get excited when Zander plays with him. I sure hope they grow up to be best buds.

Forever In Blue Jeans

This week, I took my pictures using my camera's timer. They were taken while we were at the splash park on Friday. You can read more about that in Monday's Splash Time post. Zander liked smiling for the camera while it was taking it's own pictures, so most of these he looks pretty cute in. I guess I don't look too bad either. We all had a good time at the park that day.

5*14*09 Scrap Page

I didn't go to scrapbook tonight, but I did make a page & wanted to show it off. I used my fancy new All-in-One Kodak printer to print these photos and got to work. These are the pictures from last week when I let Cali & Zander snap a few shots with my camera.

The title didn't turn out quite as I wanted it too, but it'll have to do. I think maybe I should have left the flower piece of paper off, but it's a little too late for that. Cali & Zander's names are kinda' hard to read, although they look easy to read here.

All in all, I think it turned out cute and I'm excited to have this page for Zander and I to look back on someday.

Way Back Wednesday

Or should I say...................

Wednesday's Walk Down Memory Lane

Come for a walk with me down Memory Lane!
And if you have a "Memory Lane" post, head on over to Scottsville to join in on the fun!

Look at us! That was 11 years ago. I was pinning Jason's boutonniere on for my prom night. I love how sweet he looks, you can just tell that he really loves me. Thinking back to that day, I remember how excited I was to be going to prom. I also remember spending what seemed like hours curling my hair for that night. It was a special night for me and I'm glad I got to share it with my husband!

Rather Be Fishin'

Saturday, after the pouring down rain finally stopped, we took Zander (& Mason) on his first fishing trip. Friday night, Zander got to pick out his very own fishing pole and was super-duper excited to go try it out. So when we woke up on Saturday and heard the rain, we feared he wouldn't get to go. The rain did stop, not until 5:30 pm, but we still had time to go. He did rather well I thought, at least for a 3 year old. When we got down to the dock, he sat nicely in his chair and wanted to hold his pole. As soon as Daddy got it in the water and he was holding on, he says, "I got something!" Of course he didn't, but it was cute and he enjoyed looking at the minnow on the his hook. We didn't catch anything, but the guy next to us did, so he was excited to see that. Zander was really good at reeling in his line, I think that was his favorite part. He must of enjoyed it, 'cause he has asked everyday sense if he could go fish with Spongebob. (Spongebob was the character on the fishing pole he picked.) So look for some more fishing photos.

Oh, I almost forgot. When we got there and Zander saw the water, he was excited as he always is when he sees water. But this time it was not for the water. When he looked out at the water, he exclaimed, "A WHALE!!!" He had seen a large stick floating in the middle of the lake and he honestly thought it was a whale. I think he was very disappointed when I told him it was just a stick. You should have heard that conversation!

Splash Time!

Friday, we went to out favorite local splash park and the water was on! Yippie! It was only a practice run, though. They will not have it on during the week until the 30th. Zander had a great time, as you can tell in the picture. He made good use of the test run, and I'm sure he can't wait to go back. Mason just sat on the sidelines, lookin' cute. He's gettin' pretty good at it, don't ya' think??

Mason's 1st Swim

After nap time on Thursday, we were invited over to a friend's house to play in the water and have dinner. Daddy was working late, so we thought it was a great idea. Zander's buddy, Diego, kept telling me he wanted Mason in the water. So, I decided to let him try it out. He wasn't real sure about the water at first. It kind of took his breath away. He didn't ever get upset, though. After a few minutes in the water, I took his onesie off and but on some swimming shorts. He looked super cute in those little swimming trunks! I took him back to the water, and he really enjoyed it. He was splashing around and watching the big kids play. I think he enjoyed his 1st swim! And we all had a great time spending the evening with our friends!

Having Fun with Our Buddies

Thursday, we meet our friends, Andrea, Cali, and Diego, at the park for a little bit of play time. The kids really seem to enjoy this nice, new park under the trees. Mason also enjoyed the park, in the front pack. He seemed to like watching the kids play and run around. It was a nice day and we enjoyed spending some time outside.

I let Zander take the camera for a few minutes, and he go some really good shots. Cali took a try, too. Check out their photo skills here then, go to Andrea's blog and check out the video of them.
