FTF

1. Mexican Hot Chocolate. I tried this on Wednesday when we had the freeze here in Texas. It was very yummy! The recipe was on my package of instant hot chocolate. You just add 1/4 tsp of Cinnamon and vanilla each to the cup and walla, yummy Mexican Hot Chocolate. Very flavorful!

2. Oreo Cakesters. Zander picked these up at the store the other day and I decided to let him have them. I have to say, I ate most of them. You'll have to try them to taste the goodness.

3. Crock pot Dinners. This week, I used my brand new crock-pot 3 times! It's great for these cold days. I made a beef stew on Monday, some Pasta Fagoli last night and I made some Caramel Apple Cider for my party today. I guess that's only 2 dinners, but it's nice to have it all ready in the evening when everyone is hungry and doesn't want to wait for someone to cook. I'll have to get some more recipes to use it more often.

Sorry they were all food this week. I'm not hungry, I promise :) Just wanted to share my tasteful findings. Have a great friday, everyone!

My Babies

I looked at this picture of Mason after I took it and it really reminded me of Zander. So, I went through my pictures of Zander and found this one that looks almost the same. I put them together here for you. It's funny how much they look alike, yet they are so different. Anyway, I thought it was fun.

Mason, on the left, and Zander, on the right, both at 2 months old.

Birthday Wishes

It seems we know lots of people born today, but the first is my Dad! So, Happy Birthday Dad/Grandpa Gary!! We love you and are thinking of you on your special day.

Wordless Wednesday

This is a video of Mason smiling & cooing. He was really happy so I started a video. As soon as I started it, he got the hiccups and puked. It's cute anyway, though!

Rub-A-Dub 2 Men in the Tub!

Last week, I put Mason in the tub with Zander to bath them together. Zander loved it! I think Mason liked it too. Zander will not take a bath now without asking and insisting that his little brother be in there with him. It's very cute. Mason likes his bath in the sink as usually, but doesn't seem to mind being in the big bath with Zander. I tried to bath him in the big tub without his big brother and he was very scared. It's funny how it makes him feel safer to have his big brother there. He doesn't mind the big bath at all as long as Zander's there to "protect" him. It's cute how they already have that brotherly bond! I love my boys!!! They are too cute!

FTF

1. Well Behaved 2-Year Olds. Zander is usually a handful. But, I'm sure if you have ever met him, you know that! We went to dinner at a restaurant and to a movie tonight. I was very worried about taking him cause he was being quite the pain when he woke up from his nap today. But, surprisingly, he was very well behaved at the restaurant, so we decided to try the movie. Jason & I really wanted to see Mall Cop, so we did. It was a great night & we enjoyed it! Too bad he's not always that pleasant.

2. The Wii & Wii Fit. Last night I went to my friend's for our usual scrapbook night, but she just got a Wii Fit, so we ended up playing that all night instead. I have to say I really liked it and think I'll have to get one. I have one problem, though, I have to convince my husband that I need it first! :) I guess we'll see if it works out for me. I'll let you know.

Future Rock Climbers

Sean & Sarah come down this past weekend to visit since it's Sean's last weekend off for a long time. The boys both played really well together this visit and had lots of fun. We all went out to our property again for more outdoor fun. The boys decided to play in the dirt down the hole of our future pond. After digging for a while, they decided to climb the side of the hole. They were too funny! As they were climbing up, they both would pretend to fall. They would slide down the dirt on their belly's saying, "Aaahhh!" They had a great time pretending to be rock climbers together.

I've been tagged!

This is new for me, I've never been tagged before. I guess there is a first time for everything. My former playgroup Mommy friend, now blogger friend, Tiff from The Boren Life, tagged me.

Here are the rules:
1) Link to the person who tagged you.
2) Post the rules on your blog (copy and paste 1-6).
3) Write 6 random things about yourself.
4) Tag 6 people at the end of your post and link to them.
5) Let each person know they have been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6) Let the tagger know when your entry is up.6 things about me you want to know

Here are the 6 things about me that you may or may not know.....
1. I was once a basketball superstar. & I really mean once!! I played basketball in 8th grade. I was the point guard, and not very good. :) At one game though, I made all the points and got my name in the paper!
2. I met my husband at the movie theater we both worked at when I was 16. We started dating a month before I turned 17 and got married when a month after I turned 19.
3. I graduated high school 6 months early. So I am in the graduating class of '99, although I really graduated in December of 1998.
4. I broke my foot when I was in 10th grade. I'd like to tell you I was doing something fantastic, but I was just taking my new dog out to go potty and twisted my foot on the edge of the concrete.
5. I was in labor for 17 hours with Zander before they decided to do a c-section. & 14 hours of them were without pain medication.
6. I want to visit Alaska someday. I would love to take a cruise there and see how beautiful it is in person!

In Tiff's words, "Here are my tagees."
1. Sarah
2. Jessica
3. Valerie
4. Dana
5. Hilary
6. Sariah

Please post your random 6 soon so that I can read all about you!

Baby Stats

Today I took both the boys to the doctor because of a cough and stuff noses. Poor little Mason, can't even sleep laying down because he is so congested. & Zander I swear has spent most of the last 3 nights coughing and not sleeping. So, I decided to take them in this morning. mainly to keep myself from worring too much. We found out Zander has bronchitis, again. And Mason is just stuffy. I was given an antibiotic for Zander and told to use him nepulizer 3 times a day. Mason needs to have his nose cleaned with saline as often as possible so that he is breathing clearly. His oxygen level was a little low, so I have to make sure to keep his airways clear so he can get a little more oxygen in his little body. Hopefully they will both feel better in a couple of days!

Anyway, I have "baby stats" from our visit. Little Mason has gained 4 lbs already. He is now 11 lbs, 6 oz and 22 inches long. Zander is 35.6 lbs, but I didn't get his height. Had I been thinking clearly, I would have had the nurse see how tall he was. Maybe I'll remember when I take Mason in for his 2 month check up.

Favorite Things Friday

I can't believe it's Friday already! This week really went by fast. It feels like I got nothing accomplished! Any..whooo, here are my favorite things for today,
1. Nice Quiet Hot Showers. It seems since I became a mother, they are few and far between. They are the one thing I miss the most. I feel like I am rushed every time I jump in to get clean. It is great when I get the chance to really enjoy my shower.
2. Baby Smiles. This week, Mason started smiling at me and other family members he recognizes. It is sooo exciting to see a baby's first "real" smile. It just makes you feel warm and fuzzy all over! I just love it!!!
3. Pleasantly Unexpected Mail. I say pleasantly because sometimes you receive things in the mail that you weren't expecting but would love to send back! But, this week I received two things in the mail that were very sweet to open. One was a cute card and gift certificate for my new baby boy from a friend who has moved away. The other was a box with some gifts for my kids from my little brothers in Missouri. Both were unexpected and very sweet!!!

Counting My Blessings

Tuesday, I had a terrible headache. I'd venture to say it was a migraine since I started throwing up that night. It was not too fun, but I'm grateful that it wasn't too bad until Jason was home to take care of the kids. Thank goodness I have a wonderful husband! What would I do without him?? He came home and got the kids all ready to go so he could go pick up some Gatorade (he swears it helps get rid of a headache) and some dinner. He came home and let me sleep while he feed Zander dinner, gave both of the boys a bath, did the dishes, folded and put away the boys clean cloths, and put them to bed. My headache was much better the next day, I'm sure because I was able to get some sleep. So, I'm just bragging about my wonderful hubby and counting my blessing that my headache came while he was home to save me. Thanks, Babe!! Love you!

Favorite Things Friday

I'm a little late, seeing as it's Saturday and not Friday. But like they always say, better late than never! I've never posted this on my blog, I usually just reply to my friends blog, who started this idea. She has encouraged everyone to post their own favorites on their blog each week, so here I go....
1. Scrapbooking Night When you are a SAHM, like myself, it's always nice to go anywhere by yourself and it's much better when you get to spend it with great friends and do something you enjoy. I really enjoyed getting out of the house without the kids and having a good time with my buddies! Thanks girls!
2. New Car Smell I just got a brand new car this past weekend and have really enjoyed driving around in it. I have to admit, I left the house everyday this week, just so I could get in my new car! :) Gotta' love that new car smell!!
So, those are my two favorite things from this week. Join in if you'd like! Just click on the picture above to visit the original blog of Favorite Things Friday.

My Little Cutie

I took some pictures of Mason today that I wanted to share with everyone. He has gotten much bigger in this last month. It's hard to believe he's already been here 6 weeks.

All Smiles

Yesterday, I was able to take Zander out to the park to run around a bit. He has been cooped up here at home as I've been recovering from my surgery & getting adjusted to having two little ones. He has done pretty well, but he sure misses all his play time away from home. It was quite windy outside, but he had a good time in spite of it, he was all smiles! I got some cute pictures with my new camera and had to share them.

Jason's Birthday

Here are a couple of pictures from Jason's Birthday. He turned 32 last Monday. We went to dinner, just the two of us. Then we came home to open gifts and have brownies and ice cream. Zander loves blowing out candles, so of course he had to help Daddy.

Momma's New Ride

Over the weekend, Jason and I went out and found a new car for me to drive around in. I wanted an SUV with a third row so that I had room in my car for more than just our family. We looked on New Year's Day, but no one was open. We found a few to look at and went out again on Saturday to test drive and buy. I'm really happy with what we found. I LOVE my new car. It's got lots and lots of room and it is surprisingly easy to drive despite the size. I was nervous to try it because it is so big, but I am really comfortable driving it. This is all good news, because I will probably be driving it for a long, long time!

I'm sure you are all wondering what I got. So, I guess I should tell you. It's a 2008 Toyota Sequoia. It's dark blue with a silver pinstripe. There is sitting for 8 and the car seats fit next to each other, so someone can sit in the second row next to the kids. I can't wait to go drive it again. :) (Although it probably won't be driven again today, cause the weather out there is really nasty!!)

One Month Already!

I can't believe Mason is already one month old. I forgot how fast they grow. He is staying awake longer during the day now and I think he has gained about 2 pounds, maybe 3. We are working on getting him to sleep better at night. He has done well the last few nights. He gets fussy at night and wants to stay awake. It's been 2 in the morning many nights when I finally get him to sleep and I get to lay down to sleep. But, the last couple of nights he has gone to sleep before midnight and slept all night except for his feeding times. Hopefully the fussy stage will go by fast!

Happy 2009!

It's hard to believe it's 2009! Every year seems to go faster than the last. This month has gone by especially fast. We have been really busy at our house. It seems like I haven't had much time to sit down this last month. Mason was born, we had visitors for about 3 weeks, we had Mason's blessing, Christmas, and Jason's birthday. Wow, that's a LOT for one month!

Last year, I set a resolution to write in my journal. I was good at keeping it for about 2 months, then I just stopped. I did however keep up with my blog really well, that counts right?? So, I'm not setting any real resolutions for this year, because apparently I can't keep them. I have set some personal goals for myself that hopefully I can do. I hope this new year finds everyone happy and health!
