Mason's First Portraits

We took a little trip to Sears today to get some baby pictures of Mason. I wasn't going to take Zander with me, but I changed my mind. I thought that it would be good to have some professional pictures of them together as well as just Mason. Zander and Mason both did really well, and we got some great pictures. Here are a few of them for you to see.

Aren't my boys just too cute!??!? I guess I'm a little biased :)

Happy Birthday, Mimi!

Yesterday was my Mom's birthday! We celebrated at our house with dinner and cake & ice cream. Zander helped me make the cake. As you can see, his favorite part is licking the batter. Notice the goo in the hair!

Apparently, Aunt Terri knows where to find the funniest cards, cause Mom couldn't stop laughing at that one!

Zander has been to many birthday parties in the last month, and he gets really excited about opening the gifts and blowing out the candles on the cake. Mimi was unable to even get to the presents before Zander had all the tissue paper out and was pulling the presents out of the bag. Sorry, Mimi!

And, of course the party would not be complete without Zander snatching the camera and taking a picture of our guest of honor (and everyone else). So, here's his portrait of the birthday girl! Pretty good, huh?

Happy Birthday, Mom/Mimi! We Love You!!!

FTF

I've misses a couple of Fridays. They just seem to come and go so fast. I have thought of a few things in the past two weeks to write, I just didn't get it done. So, I'll try to remember some of them to list here.

1. Texas Weather. I know it sounds crazy especially to those who have lived in Texas and know how crazy our weather is. But, Texas weather can go from really warm to really cold or vis versa, over night. So, we can go play in the nice sun one day and it'll be cool the next day so we don't have to turn on the air conditioner.

2. Grandparents, Mine and my kids'. It is nice to have them so close. I can give them a call and they will be over here to help out almost every time. Jason's Dad has spent many hours here watching Zander while I went to doctor's appointments. And, just last week, my Mom kept my kids for about 4 hours so Jason and I could have a night alone together. Thanks Mimi & Papa.

3. Our Hot Tub. Last weekend, Jason and I cleaned out our hot tub so that we could use it again. It has been hibernating since I got pregnant with Mason because you are not supposed to use them while you are pregnant. It was nice to get in and soak for a little with my hubby. I'm looking forward to using it again!

4. Laughing. Mason started laughing last week. It's a joy to hear a baby's first laugh. But I love laughing in general. It's fun to watch Zander laugh and it's fun to laugh at him and all the silly things he does. Laughing is truly the best medicine.

Did You Know....

When you put on anti-perspirant in the morning, you are welcoming aluminium to enter your body. I had no idea! Last night, I went to an activity at church and listened to a little lesson on keeping our bodies health from a local chiropractor. This was one of the things I learned. Anti-perspirants main ingredient is an aluminium based product that enters your pores to keep them from releasing sweat. I read a little more about because I was curious and found out that the aluminum passes through your pores with water which squeezes the sweat ducts closed. To read for yourself, click here.

I also learned that margarine is very close to plastic and flys will not eat it. Can you believe that?? Flys won't eat margarine! They know it will kill them. Yet, we (well, most of us) eat it almost everyday.

I'll share one last thing. We all know soda's are bad for us. And a lot of us know that the carbonation in soda can eat away acid on a car battery. How does the body keep this from happening when we ingest it?? I'm not exactly sure how this works, because he didn't go into detail. But the body takes calcium from our bones and teeth to keep this from happening. So, lady's if we drink lots of soda, we are contributing to our likelihood of developing osteoporosis. Not good.

I Heart Faces - Wonder

This week at

the theme is Wonder.

My entry is this picture of Zander. We were at the fourth of July parade and he seemed to be in total fascination.

Wacky Wednesday

LOL! This picture just cracks me up! Yesterday I had the camera out, and Zander wanted to take a picture of every part of his body. This is his "foot" picture. He stuck his foot up as far as he could and held it there with both hands, all the while saying "fooooot, foooot." I snapped the shot, and there is my silly little man. What would life be like without him? I don't even remember. Well, maybe I do, but I wouldn't go back. He brings a smile to my face everyday.

I made this little scrapbook to give to my Valentine (Jason) this year. I was very excited about how cute it turned out and wanted to show everyone my hard work.

Open Gym

On Thursday's, I usually take Zander to the local gymnastic center to play. They have what is called "Open Gym," where the kids can come (for a $5 fee) & play for about an hour. I've never taken the camera to get pictures before, but last week I did so I could show everyone what it is and how much fun Zander has there. The pictures didn't turn out too great, cause the lighting in there isn't very good, but here they are anyway...

There are quite a few trampolines there to jump on, and all the kids love to jump and roll around on them.

Diego and Cali are usually there for Zander to play with. He loves his friends! This picture makes me laugh because it looks like Diego is doing some sort of karate move on Zander, but he's not, there were just jumping and falling over.

I'm not sure what the proper name is for these bars, but Zander enjoys swinging on them.

This seems to be the "main attraction." It is a big pit full of foam cubes. The kids jump in and "swim," as the call it, in the foam cubes.

There are also several objects like this one that the kids like to push around and put together. Many times there is a "fort" or "house" made of these that they crawl in and out of.

Everyone seems to have a great time here, it is one of Zander's favorite places to go.

Happy Valentine's Day, Mommy!

I'm thinking this would be the best Valentines Day gift right now! What do you ladies think?
