Escape Artist

Zander has figured out how to climb out of his bed. We woke up this morning to him knocking on his door. I wasn't quite sure how he did it, since he doesn't have anything to climb on. So, I put him in to see if he would show me. Sure enough, he did. All he did was lift his leg over the top and jumped out. I was a little shocked. He was smart enough to go to th corner of the bed so he could hold on to both sides to get enough leverage to get his leg over the top. I told my best friend and she said wait until you have a baby and he climbs into the crib so he can be next to the baby. I thought that was funny, but I'm sure he will some day! LOL :)

Quality Time with Daddy

Zander loves to see his Daddy when he gets home. They always have a great time together. They were playing with his Legos the other night and I took some photos to share. He has a train with his set and loves to stack them really tall. Jason was laying on the floor helping him stack them as tall as they would go. After stacking them, they would push the train around until it fell over. It never made it too far, but Zander thought it was great! They rebuilt it about 3 times. He and his Daddy are sooo cute together! Don't you think so?

Vampires are Real

Yesterday after going to Target to pick up a few things, I decided to take Zander to McDonalds to play and eat. It's been cold and rainy here for two days, so I wanted to take him somewhere that he could play for a little while. We go every now and then and he loves to climb to the top of the slide and drive in the car. I ate my hamburger and kept an eye on him while he was climbing. Then I put him in the highchair and he ate his chicken nuggets. He wanted to play some more, so I took him back over to the play area and watched him play. He came up to me crying and I didn't know what had happened. He was leaning over the slide, so I thought someone had slide down on him, but I didn't see it. I walked with him back over to the stairs and there were to many kids trying to climb up, so we went over to the toddler area. There was another boy there, but he was playing on his own. Zander went to twist the hour glass thing with balls and water in them. The other boy over there saw him, walked up to him, grabbed him by his shoulders and just chomped down on Zander. I was PISSED!!! I screamed at the boy and all the mom's came running. His mom took him and I said, your son just bit my little boy. She picked him up and said "You can't bite people, you made that little boy cry. You need to tell him you're sorry." The boy says he's sorry and he's mom asked if Zander was ok. I looked at him and said yes. Then they went and sat down. I couldn't believe that she didn't do anything else. He didn't get time out, she didn't make him leave, she didn't do anything! First of all I couldn't believe he bit Zander right in front of me and then he's mother doesn't really do anything about it. She told me he doesn't "use his words" very good and they were trying to make him "use his words." She also said he bites his brother but he has never bit anyone else. I just couldn't believe that she did nothing, really, and that she wasn't really keeping an eye on her child. Later when I got home, I looked at his back. There was a mark in the middle of his back where I suspect the boy bit him when he came running to me when he was leaning over the slide. The mark on his shoulder was pretty ugly and it just made me more angry. What was I to do though? I really had a hard time not smacking that kid in the mouth. He had to be about 4 or 5, so he knew better. What would you have done??? Here's a picture of his arm:

4-Wheelin' Zander

Zander got two 4 wheelers for Christmas. He got one from his Grammy Kitty & one from his Grandpa. The one his Grammy gave him was a smaller Dora one. In my opinion, this one is a little safer and easier to chase him on. The one his Grandpa gave him is bigger and goes much faster. Jason & I took him out to play with them Saturday night. He really LOVED it! Jason, although, got pretty worn out chasing him on the big 4 wheeler. Zander enjoyed himself. He was pushing the little one around and even gave his Winnie the Pooh balls a ride on it. While Jason was chasing him around on the big 4-Wheeler to make sure he didn't run into anything, Zander was yelling "Weee Weee!" It was lots of fun to watch. Yesterday his Grandpa come over and we showed him how he enjoys his new ride. Zander really loves his Grandpa, or "Papa" as he says it.

I've made a montage of the pictures and videos of Zander 4-Wheelin':

Turtle

My Aunt Jill sent me an email with this clip in it. This morning when I was watching it, Zander wanted to see. I showed it to him and he LOVED it! I said to him, "See that turtle, he's singing." He pointed at the screen and said, "turtle." It was really that clear. I was so excited, I had to share that with everyone. He is saying sooo many words, I'm just waiting for the day when he really starts talking. He talks now, but it seems it's in his own little language most of the time. I can't wait to really understand what he is saying.

About the clip: This guy is really amazing. I enjoyed watching all his clips on You Tube. He was on that show America's Got Talent. I was never really interested in the show, so I didn't watch it. But, this guy is really good. And, he is from TEXAS!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! It's 2008, can you believe it?? Have any of you set a resolution for the new year??

I don't usually set new year's resolutions, but this year I have decided to make one. I would like to keep a personal journal, and make it a habit to write in it at least once a week. I have never really been very good at keeping a journal, but have always wished I did. We have always been taught at church to keep a journal so that you have a record of events in your life, not only for our benefit, but also for the benefit of those we leave behind when we pass away. A journal is also good to help you realize all the blessings that you have been given. Sometimes it's hard to recognize a blessing until it has past and you are looking back on it. It would've been nice to have some of the memories that I shared with my father written down so that I could go back and read over them. Since I haven't been very good at keeping a journal, I don't have any of those memories written down. So, I plan to start. I have a nice journal that my grandmother made for me that I plan on filling up this year. If you see me, ask how it's going so that I will be reminded of my goal.
