Enjoying the Snow

I know almost everyone else has had an overabundance of snow, but we rarely see snow, especially this thick! So, to say the least we were very excited to get out and play in it. We wish for a day like this every winter, but only see one every few years. I guess lucky for us it usually only last one day before it's all gone.

Check out my little "Snowmen" :)

Mr. Dimples

My little Mason-Man showing off his big smile and cute dimples, last Friday. Look at that perfect little face! Minus the big bruise on his check and forehead. Poor little guy is so clumpsy and fearless, he is always getting hurt. I just love this picture, though, so I had to post it :)

49 of 52 - Salado Creek

Forever In Blue Jeans

Saturday was a really nice day, so we couldn't waste it! We went to a park at a near by town with some friends for a picnic lunch. There is a creek by the park that we let the kids go down to and throw rocks in. They loved it, of course. I tried, unsuccessfully, to keep my boys out of the water. When I wasn't looking, Zander started jumping in a little puddle of muddy water and then he thought it would be fun to walk into the creek. Silly boy was all wet from his shoes to his waist. He had fun though. That's all that matters, right?

P.S. Thank you Andrea for the pictures :)

Are Scars Really Cool?

I don't think so, especially as a Mommy. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure my baby boy will have one after this weekend. Sunday morning about 10 minutes before it was time to leave the house for church, he fell and hit his face on the side of this speaker.

It split his lip open and there was blood everywhere. I panicked at the sight of all the blood, I tried my best to stop the bleeding and grabbed everything to head to the hospital. Poor Zander freaked out, too. He ran to his room and was just standing there crying. I think he was scared from the blood, he is very scared of blood. I asked him to get his shoes and go to the car, which he did. I felt so sorry for him, he was just asking over and over "What happened to Mason?"

We ended up waiting at the ER for about 4 hours before the Dr. came in to stitch up Mason's lip. He had to have 3 stitches. I'm so glad my Mom was able to take Zander home with her so he didn't have to wait with us. He gave us specific instructions not to let them give Mason a shot when he left. We were unable to make that promise, but we assured him Mason would be ok. It was so hard to watch the nurses wrap Mason up and hold him down. I'm pretty sure he was scared and in pain. I stayed in the room, but did not watch them stitch him up. He cried the whole time, which was hard for me to handle. I just stood behind the doctor, gritting my teeth, trying not to cry. Jason did watch, but he said it made him want to cry.
By the time we got home, Mason was fine. He was happy and playing like normal. I'm just hoping I'm able to keep the wound clean and limit the scaring. Wish me luck!!

Grow Capsules

Since it's been pretty cold outside, I bought some things to do indoors for Zander. Monday, I let him play with these grow capsules.

He LOVED them!! He was so excited to put the little capsules in the water and watch them transform and "grow" into foam animals.

Zander named them "medicine animals" and told everyone that came over all about them. I didn't know they would be so exciting. The best part is they were only $1.
