I found out last week that I have gestational diabetes. So, I have an appointment with a dietitian to get on a diabetic diet and start testing my glucose levels. The appointment is not until Friday, though. My doctor said that I should be able to control the diabetes with diet and have no complications from it. Because of this diagnoses though, I will be getting more ultrasounds, Yeah! I have one scheduled for next week. I'm excited to be able to see the baby a couple more times before he gets here. So check back for some new pictures of the baby in about 2 weeks.
P.S. This is the 100th post on my blog! Can you believe it?

Congrats, Sean!
Sean just completed his police academy and had his graduation on Friday. We all went down to celebrate with him. He now gets to start his field training. That should be fun! He is doing a great job and I think he really likes it. He'll be a great police officer. Congratulations, Sean & good luck with the rest of your training!

New Quilt
I decided to make a new quilt for the day bed in the baby's room to match the other decor. Because we have decided to leave the bed in there, I wanted to change the bedding because it was really girly. So, I bought a new sheet set for fairly cheap and started sewing a quilt together with the fabric that was left from the curtains and diaper stacker. It turned out pretty cute and I wanted to share it with everyone, so here it is:

Hot Wheels
Jason's Dad come over Tuesday to watch Zander while I was at my doctor's appointment. Before I left, he wanted to take Zander to the toy store to buy some Hot Wheels. I personally think he is too little for them, but Papa was all set & ready to buy them anyway. As a child, I never played with hot wheels. Not that I would've had my own, but my brothers did not have any. So, I didn't really understand what was so great about them. Jason & Adam (his brother), however, did have them as kids, so Bill knew how much they liked them and was anxious for Zander to have some. So, we headed to the store to buy them. Papa picked out a set and some extra cars to go with it. Zander was excited to be at the toy store and was busy running through, looking at all the toys. He had fun playing with the construction cars & Cars Movie cars on the isle while Papa was looking at the hot wheels. After Papa found what he wanted, they played with the Hulk Hands, punching each other with them. Than they had a great time pressing all the buttons on the Wall-E figures and watching them all talk at the same time. As we were heading out, Zander found the motorized cars and had to stop to get in and try those out as well. We convinced him to leave and headed out.
As I was at the doctor, Bill tried to set up the hot wheels and play with Zander. Apparently, he didn't get very far. Zander thought it was more fun to beat up Papa with the track instead of putting it together. Zander doesn't have very much patience and he really like to wrestle and play fight with Papa, so that's what he did. Bill managed to get some track put together and attached a launch to it that Zander enjoyed playing with. I came home expecting to see the hot wheels all set up in the living room. But they were not. Zander had gone down for a nap and Papa had put them all back in the box.
When Jason came home, he tried to set them up as well. He was not very successful, Zander became impatient and would not let him finish. Jason was getting frustrated and decided to out them away. Later on in the evening, Zander was visiting Mimi at her house and Daddy was able to set the track up. Zander came home and he had a great time playing with them. So, maybe now he will enjoy them more. If we are able to set them up again. Here are a few pictures of Zander playing with them after Daddy finally got them all set up.
Only 12 More Weeks to GO!

Yesterday I had an ob check and I also had to take my 1 hour glucose screening. The appointment went very well. I haven't gained any weight in the last 4 weeks, yeah for me! I'm trying to keep my weight gain pretty low, so far so good. My blood pressure was also very good. It was 116/82, hopefully it stays in that range. With Zander I developed pre-eclampsia, which is high blood pressure with pregnancy and can lead to seizures. So, I've been having my doctor pay pretty close attention to that issue. I'm measuring about 28 weeks and I'm 27 weeks tomorrow, so that is pretty close as well. Cross your fingers for my glucose test. I should get the results for that at my next visit which is in 2 weeks. I had to do the 3 hour test with Zander, but it came back normal. But I'm still nervous about it. All in all, though, everything is going well & right on track.

My Little Artist
Sunday night, Zander was drawing on his Magnadoodle. He was making circles and putting dots in them. He just learned what a circle was, so he was saying it as he was drawing. After several circles, he started naming the circles, or telling Mom & I what they were. It was very cute. Mom and I were having a good time listening & giggling at him. The big blob in the top left hand corner is "Tay." (Taylor) He also drew Mater, a whale, Nemo, and much more, I just can't remember them all. I had to take a picture of it to share cause I thought it was so cute.

Schlitterbahn!
Jason & I were planning on going to Galveston for Labor Day weekend as a family vacation. Those plans were quickly squashed by the tropical storm Gustav that was heading for the Gulf. I was bummed because I really wanted to go on vacation as a family. So, I was busy searching for somewhere we could go with Zander & have a good time. I REALLY wanted to go to the beach, but clearly that was not a good idea at this time. I found a waterpark close to Dallas but wasn't sure if I wanted to drive all that way and go somewhere I didn't really know much about. So, Jason suggested we go to Schlitterbahn. I didn't really think there was much for toddlers to do there, but I was way wrong. We went, and we all had a great time! Schlitterbahn is clearly set up to accommodate all ages. Zander was allowed to go on all but four of the rides. We only ventured on two of them because of the lines, but Zander loves them. He was not ready to get on as soon as we got there. He wasn't sure about the tube and the cold water. He was a little upset when we got to the top of the first ride. We ended up taking him back down to play in the kiddie park to get used to the water, then we hiked back up the stairs to the ride and he got in and really loved it. He liked it so much, he did not want to get out of his tube when we reached the end of the ride. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy our pictures. We really had a great time together at Schlitterbahn!
