Forever In Blue Jeans

I have been feeling pretty crummy this week and didn't get a picture of me to share. I do, however, have some from last week that I would like to share. My Mom took these at our home town's annual Veterans Day Parade. Veterans Day is always a special day to me as an army brat and a member of a military community. I'm proud to be an American and I'm very grateful to those who sacrifice so much for our freedom. This year was especially heartfelt in our community due to the resent tragedy we have encountered here on Fort Hood.

I will post more pictures later, but here are two of me. The first one Zander stuck his flag right in front of my face, so we took a second one.

Last Game

Zander had his last kickball game of the season on Friday. I'm proud of him, he played really well for his first season. He needs to work on his running skills, but he's still young. :) After the game, the coach gave each of them a trophy. He was very excited to receive that. I think he has told everyone about his "Star Trophy."

My happy little kickball player....

A Few of My Recent Layouts

I haven't posted any of my layouts for a while. Here are my latest creations, all based on sketches from 52 Sketches....52 Weeks by Julie Bonner.

This one is of a couple of my favorite pictures of my boys and I. I loved the quotes and the papers and was excited to put it all together. It's my new "favorite" page. This was Sketch #44.

This one is Mason's 8 Month Page. When I started this one, I didn't plan on making it his 8 month page, it just sorta' turned out that way. This one is Sketch #45.

This one is made from some new "Boy" papers I recently bought. I have a hard time finding boy papers, so I'm always excited when I do. I think I've collected quite a few in the last couple of months. This is Sketch #23.

Forever In Blue Jeans

My kids and I out enjoying the great weather we are having. Believe it or not, I used to play on this park as a kid. It's kinda' fun to watch my kids play here too. I tried to get a picture with both my kids, but my oldest would rather pose with someone elses family. You can check his picture out here on Andrea's blog.

Are you the Mom who's always taking pictures and look back only to realize you aren't IN any of them? Do your kids look through photo albums and ask "Where were you Mommy?" Well, Carin over at Forever in Blue Jeans decided to change all that and challenges any one who's interested to do the same. So hand over the camera, or at least figure out the self-timer and get on the other side of the lens more often. Post your photos of you enjoying time with your family every Thursday and share the link with other Mom's by posting it on Carin's blog. You can start any time with week 1 of 52, don't worry about being "behind" just jump on in.

Learning New Things

Mason has learned how to put the blocks into this barn. It's always fun to watch babies learn new things. I remember when Zander learned this as well. I found the video of him. So, I've posted it here too.

Fun on Halloween Morning

Halloween morning, I took the boys to the Silo Christmas Tree Farm Pumpkin Patch. We met some friends there and had a really good time. We participated in all of the following activities while we were there and only spent $8, a children's maze, a little petting zoo, a duck race, pumpkin painting and a nature trail. It was a very nice morning and Zander and Mason both enjoyed running around.

Pumpkin Carvings

I know, I'm a little behind. But better late than never. This year I picked a couple of patterns for the pumpkins that I though Zander would really love. I found a Buzz Lightyear Pattern and my friend, Dana, gave me the Thomas the Tank Engine one. It was perfect since Zander was dressing up as Thomas. He loved them, and I was happy with how they turned out. This is one of my favorite things about Halloween. I can't wait to do it again next year.

Go Dog Go

Friday night, Zander had a date with Mommy & Mimi. Our local theater was putting on a performance of the Dr. Seuss book, Go Dog Go. I was excited to take Zander to the show. He was excited too! Here he is heading heading in to the theater with Mimi.

He was very anxious to go in and sit down. He did not, however want his picture taken. During the intermission, I promised him he could take a picture with my camera if he would smile with me. So, he did. During the first half of the show, the "Dogs" handed out some lollipops for the kids. That is what he is holding.

As I'm sure you can tell, he still did not want his picture taken, but I took one anyway. He sat on Mimi's lap the whole time. Mine was apparently not good enough nor was the seat that I paid for him.

The show was great, the kids did a great job with this performance. Zander is still talking about it. After the performance, the "dogs" (all played by children) lined up out in the foyer for everyone to meet. Zander acted afraid of them and had a breakdown about high fiving them. Poor guy didn't take a nap, and I think he regrets being such a turd. I made him leave and the next morning he was asking to go back so he could give the dogs a high five. Maybe next time he won't be so grumpy. All in all, we had a great time.
