Turning the BIG 30

I turned 30 on April 17 of this year. I had a nice little celebration with my family here at home. My older brother and his wife were able to come, too. We celebrated by going to see RIO the day before, which was a really cute movie. And the day of we celebrated with a huge BBQ complete with smoked brisket, sausage, potatoe salad, beans, bread, and of course cake and ice cream. We had one of my favorite cakes, Italian Creme Cake. I got lots of nice gifts and enjoyed the time with my family. Thank you all for celebrating with me :)

Handsome Cousins

This picture was just too cute not to post. They were all dressed up, looking handsome & smiling at the camera... what are the odds??!?!

I can explain...

I know I vowed to be better at posting regularly in April, but a few days after my last post our family was faced with the loss of my father-in-law. It has been a rough month and a half. So, needless to say that is why I've been "missing."

We are all saddened by the loss of our dear Father & Papa. He was a great guy and we love him and miss him everyday. I'm not sure if my boys fully understand, but they miss him. He always knew how to make his grandboys smile! Here's to you "Papa".....

Birthday Get-togther

About 2 weeks ago, we went to Tyler for Troy's birthday. We haven't been there in a while and the boys have been asking about each other, so we decided to go celebrate with him. The boys always have a great time together. Here they are sitting outside on the back porch together. A pretty cute looking bunch, if you ask me :)...

I was trying to get them all to look at me, so I asked them to find the dinosaur in my camera lens. This are the looks they gave me. They weren't sure whether to believe me or not.

We all played outside in the backyard all afternoon after eating some hamburgers, Sean's specialty. It was pretty late when we came in, so they kids had baths and than we ate some pizza and cake.

Here is Troy with his birthday cupcake.

Zander being a silly guy, like always :)

After eating, the boys all settled in on the couch with Mimi to watch Yogi Bear the movie. It was cute and they stayed there for a while. I think Zander & Paul were they only one's to actually finish the movie, though.

Guess What??!?

Most of you already know this, but I haven't posted it here yet. I Drank the Water ...I'm Pregnant! The baby is due November 7, 2011. I went to my 1st dr appointment on March 31st. We got to see the baby and it's heartbeat. The baby was very tiny, not much to see, but the heartbeat was really strong and was fun to see beating on the ultrasound screen. I've had some morning sickness this time, but nothing too bad yet.

Face Painting @ Chick-Fil-A

We occasionally go to Chick-Fil-A on Tuesday nights for "Family Night." The kids eat free and there is always an activity for them. A couple of weeks ago, Jason was working out of town, so my Mom & I took the kids there for dinner. There was a cute clown, Rainbow D. Clown, there doing face painting for the kiddos. Of course Zander wanted his done, so after eating we stood in line FOREVER!! & he got his face painted like a Tiger. It turned out really cute! Mason wasn't so sure about it, but he did stand there and wait the whole time with us. I didn't want him to miss out after standing there for so long, so the clown painted his arm instead. She copied the little monkey on his shirt. They both loved it!

Colored Bubbles

A couple of weeks ago, I needed to go to the store to pick something up. I told the kids they could get something. So, we looked through the toy section and found some Crayola Colored Bubbles. They sounded pretty cool and were fairly cheap so I let the boys each pick one and we went on our marry way. Of course they wanted to play with them when we got home. I sent them out back with thier bubbles to have a good time. I wanted to put the other things I had bought away, so I stayed inside for a few minutes. When I did go outside, this is what I found.....

Not only did it look like my kids splattered paint all over themselves, it looked like it was splattered all over the walls of the house, the patio, the dogs, and all the furniture and toys outside. These things were a crazy mess!! They didn't just dump them everywhere, either. The bubbles splattered these nice colors everwhere they landed. The good thing was they rinsed off pretty easy. When they were done, I took them inside, striped them, throw the clothes in the wash, and the kids in the tub. Everything came out ok, except the bubbles. I disposed of them :) They do not get a high recommend from me!

Our Garden

This year we got rid of our square foot garden and planted one in the ground. Jason cut down a huge ugly bush on the side of our house so we could use that area to plant the garden. He says he's going to show me how to grow some veggies, because I was never really successful with my other garden.
Zander really wanted to plant some seeds. So he looked through what I had and decided he liked grape tomatoes. He walked around with the seed packet for a while before we were ready for him to plant them. When we told him to come plant his seeds, he had dropped most of them so he only had 2 left. He planted them, but they didn't ever sprout. :(

We planted onions, carrots, lettuce, spinach, tomotoes (regular & grape), green peppers, cucumbers, and jalepenos.
Mason just played while we planted the garden. He helped mix the dirt with his rake. Other than that, he didn't act real interested. But the next day, I got the hose out to water and he really wanted to help, so I left him have at it. He looked especially cute in his crocs :)

You can see in his face he was really excited and into his little job!

I will try to keep you updated on our Garden's progress. I'm hoping everything will grow nicely!
